CATS SUCK AT LIFE SOMETIMES. I just got a new pair of headphones like two days ago, and ONE OF THE BUTTS CHEWED THROUGH THEM. I think it was Ten; he's prone to randomly chewing things when he sits.

More on this theme: Donna has broken, in the span of a week or so, two plates, a bowl, and a glass. Sylvia cut her foot on a piece we managed to miss in sweeping them up. Fucking cats.

Sylvia and I are weird. Obvious statement is obvious, I know, but we randomly were looking at Google autocomplete suggestions for "is ___", going through each letter of the alphabet (so "is a", "is b", etc) and she decided to compile the data on the most prevalent themes: sexuality, pregnancy, contagions, and death. In response, I took her data and made a handy pie chart:

Pie chart! )

THIS IS MY FAVORITE FIC MEME IN ALL THE WORLD. It's an Avengers kissing meme and it makes me happy in tons of ways. This one is my favorite; it's the team + Pepper playing Spin the Bottle and basically everyone should just kiss everyone else all of the time forever, because it makes me happy. The meme as a whole has spoilers, but that story in particular does not.

I basically ship Everyone/Everyone, with a slight preference for Tony/Bruce or Tony/Bruce/Pepper (because, like, Pepper totally owns Tony, duh, so she's like, "of course you can kiss the cute geeky scientist boy if you like, just let me watch sometimes," and Tony's like, "hell yes," and Bruce is mainly kind of confused but secretly pleased, and he goes with it because he needs people around him to love him and not be scared of him and occasionally kiss him, and it is the best forever and always, amen.)

I've just got all the feelings about this OT3, apparently. I am not even a big comic book person. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME.

Hooray for the Obama announcement! I'm really curious as to how this is going to affect the Republicans, because it strikes me as the kind of thing that could really divide the more fringe element from the more moderate element in a clear, fractious way, and that is interesting. Of course, it could also unite them completely, which is scarier.

Kind of amusing: when I wake up, first thing I do, literally, is grab my phone and check my email. The day of, I had at least four or five separate emails about it. I MAY BELONG TO A LOT OF POLITICAL WEBSITES, OKAY.

This is possibly the worst graphic ever. It's seriously just laid out terribly.

Sharon and I have been playing escape-the-room games on my iPod/iPhone, racing each other. It's kind of random, but also fun.

I think that's all. I'm going to go now. Maybe sleep, maybe not. I don't know yet.

Don't ask me why, but I have been reading Fifty Shades of Grey, and GOOD GOD IS THIS BOOK TERRIBLE. Seriously, just badly written, awful characters, terrible implications. I'm in the middle of chapter 8, but I had to stop and take a break and read something GOOD again, so I read [info]honorh's commentary on her excellent fic, Out of Joint. (Firefly/Doctor Who crossover. Read it if you know both fandoms and haven't yet, for everyone is perfect and it is amazing.)

My favorite line from this book so far: I am in awe and slightly daunted by this underwear.

My new favorite idiom: I very rarely throw my toys out of the pram.

(It's a very realistic one for a 21-year-old American college student, of course.)

Why is my TWS so strong. Why.

Sylvia and I have been playing a really random game, wherein we're trying to determine who can come up with more 'celebrity' (for a pretty generous definition of celebrity, lol) crushes within certain age groups. She's kicking my ass in the under 30 group, unsurprisingly, 17 to 4. We're pretty close in 30 to 40; she's ahead by five, 34 to 29. I am, naturally, considerably ahead in the over 40 category, 10 to 34.

We are so very strange sometimes.

In other news, have a meme:

Pick a character that I have written, or that you know I have substantial headcanon about, and ask any five questions about him/her. Be sure to specify whether you would like responses to be OOC (responding as the writer) or IC (responding as the character).

Fandom or original, go wild.

(A note to those on LJ: if you want, you can log in through OpenID to leave comments on DW.)

[personal profile] ilyena_sylph is doing a fundraiser to get [personal profile] killing_rose the fuck away from her abusive living situation. She needs to raise a lot of money, since [personal profile] killing_rose is moving from Alaska to the lower 48, but if you could even donate $5, it'd help a lot. If you can't donate, please, please signal boost.

Fund-raising post here.

Thanks so much.

I posted my Small Fandom Big Bang today, yay. Now if only my Queer Big Bang would let me work on it. SAM. TALK AGAIN. LARRY FINALLY SHUT UP. NOW IS YOUR CHANCE.

Certain characters (Dan) need to stop giving me vague impressions (DAN) and start giving me something to actually WRITE. (DAN I MEAN YOU.)

Sylvia and I went to this outlet mall she knows of in Michigan. I got: a book, some pretty nail polish, lotion, body spray, a pen, and some delicious Cafe au Lait malt balls, all for $20. Outlet malls are the best.

The book looks kind of ridiculous, but it was a bargain bookstore, and it's apparently a paranormal romance involving zombies. I couldn't pass up that sort of novelty.

Have some random pictures of things and animals!

Pictures under the cut. )

Oh, I have another installment for the continuing adventure of my mom and technology! The other day she was like, "Sara, can you fix this? I don't know what happened..." and she handed me her phone, which had a little folder open on the screen. The contents of this folder, you ask?

Idek. )

I swear I laughed for a minute straight. She kept insisting the phone did it by itself while I deleted them, lol.

All right, I think that's all for now. I'm going to go eat my mango sorbet as I finish catching up on Revenge, and hope that Dan decides to actually talk to me for something.

Make a list of all the characters in your icons. (Although you may have more than one icon of a single character, they only go on the list once.) Alphabetize it. Take the first two people on the list; that's your first pairing. Second two people; second pairing, etc. Treat us to some commentary once you're done.

Note: there are two instances where these aren't strictly alphabetical because I have a lot of sibling characters and I wanted to avoid incest.

Thirty-seven pairings under the cut. )

Well, that was a random meme, but a fun one.

Modifying a meme:

Give me a pairing (or platonic relationship, if you like), and I'll upload you a song that reminds me of them.

Any fandom I know, or original--have at it.

In other news: the continuing adventures of my mom and technology.

She has this adapter in her car, which connects to her iPod and tunes it to a radio station, so she can hear it through her speakers. )

I really ought to make this a series.

Huh.
Utterly random question for you to ponder: which do you think would be more apocalypse-friendly, pencils or pens?

(And by apocalypse-friendly, I do mean easier to use and replenish in the event of, say, 99.993% of the world dying.)

I myself can't decide if the amount of ink in the average pen lasts longer than however long it takes for a pencil to get so small it's unusable. Then again, I rarely use pencils, so I don't have the best frame of reference.

Thoughts?

1) I am drunk right now.

2) I have less patience for misogyny when drunk, which is really saying something, since I have basically no patience at all for it when sober.

3) I have no idea how to tell my mom I'm not straight. I know she's not going to care. She's my mom. She is totally down with the queerness. She could honestly give a fuck. But it's still difficult for some reason, and I don't know why. It's not even logical. Wtf.

4) I've had an epiphany. I'm pan. That's the word for me. It's emotion and connection that matter, not gender. I wasn't sure before but...yeah, that's it. I don't know why I avoided it for so long, honestly. I really don't.

5) Just had a heartfelt conversation with my sister about sex and how slut-shaming is bullshit. She and her boyfriend have had sex, and she thought I'd freak out. But she's 18, they used protection, what's to freak out about? The things that matter when it comes to sex are a) feeling that you're ready, b) making sure you're safe, and c) having a good time. Anything else is bullshit and not worth listening to.

6) I did tell her that any minor freakout I might have had would have been due to her being my baby sister, nothing else. Those of you with little siblings know how that is, I assume. It's just a matter of wanting them to be protected, nothing more.

7) Also, my sister is bi too. Which just makes me laugh, since none of my mom's children are straight. It's official. I love it.

8) If you're on my flist, I'm glad about that. Never doubt it.

9) Fuck my walls, seriously.

10) I think that's all for now.
