Thanks to a variety of people, including my aunt and Kelly's friend Faith, the money aspect was secured. I managed to get a hold of my former roommate, A.J., and he agreed to drive me from Toledo (I'd pay for gas, obv.) After some finagling (Scott and Lee are the biggest flakes, I swear to god) I got my mom to drive me from Akron to the storage unit, where we met him.

So I am finally on my way, heading out to Iowa as I type this. We should get there sometime around four in the morning.

I just. So fucking relieved.

Sitting in the Ft. Lauderdale airport, waiting for our plane. We've got a little while--plane doesn't leave until 11:30, and it's only 9:45 now, as I start typing this.

So! As you know, I will soon be moving out to Iowa to live with Geena and Kelly. We have to move into a larger apartment, as it turns out, which means deposits--one for the place itself, and at least two for my cats (and possibly theirs as well.) Those, of course, require money. We do have some savings, but it's probably not going to be quite enough. In that vein:

I'm offering fic services! $1 per hundred words, fan or original. Turn around might be a bit slow at first (I'm currently in Florida for my cousin's wedding, and then moving) but once I get more settled, I hope to speed things up. You can see examples of my writing at scripted_sra and rainbowfic (my tag is here.)

I can also offer editing services! This can be either a quick copy edit (SPAG) or an in depth edit (plot, pacing, character development, etc, plus SPAG.) I'll ballpark it at $1 per 1k for a copy edit; for a hard edit, $2 per 1k, up to 10k, and we can negotiate after that.

So at work, when people slide their cards, usually the name pops up on my screen (possibly because my store thinks it somehow wouldn't be creepy to thank them by name.) I don't really pay attention unless it's something amusing, like J. Potter or Johnny Green.

I almost choked trying not to laugh.


In other news, I am super bored, and my brain is not working. I really need to work on my CBB, but the only characters even kind of talking are PoI characters. Who said this stupid show was allowed to eat my brain?!


Come to think of it, I am hearing distant rumbles from my TSFBS crowd. Will have to poke at some of my in progress stories and see if anything happens.

So this PoI fic I'm writing is preeeeetty much turning into HERE JUST HAVE ALL OF MY FEELINGS: The Story. It is ridiculous. (Alternate subtitles include: 'John Reese's Complete and Utter Lack of Self-Worth: The Story' and 'Harold Finch's Massive and Unending Guilt Complex: The Story.' So, you know: fun!)

In other news, I love whenever we have to close one of the self-checkout lanes at work. The light will be off, the indicator will be red, the screen will have a large red circle on it with the words LANE CLOSED right above it, there will be a basket over the scanner...and still no less than ten people will try to use it. Of course.

It is kind of funny when people look at me like I'm magic because I happen to know a produce code off the top of my head, though.


Okay, well, off to write some more. And/or watch Gilmore Girls, one of the two, maybe both.
